Senior Consultant
Jose Castillo holds a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad de Concepcion, Chile. Jose has 4 years of experience in energy consulting, especially in green hydrogen and Power-to-X. Before joining Hinicio, he worked in two ENGIE Group companies.
Between 2018 and 2019, Jose was a member of the T3A team in Tractebel-ENGIE, first-movers in the development of hydrogen projects in LatAm, while there, Jose developed technical expertise in systemic energy optimization and green hydrogen, participating in several studies related to the entire hydrogen value chain and its applications.
During 2020 and 2021, Jose worked as a Consultant at ENGIE Impact, a strategic consulting firm formed to accelerate the sustainability transformation. There, Jose contributed to projects for industrial clients in their decarbonization strategies and technology roadmaps implementation. In addition, Jose supported capacity building across the LatAm team in low-carbon hydrogen topics, for both peers and senior management and he was a key contributor to Power-to-X proposals for Latam and the US. Jose speaks Spanish and English.
