Desired skills & expertise

  • Experience and strong interest in one or several of the following areas (may include internships): regulatory affairs, public affairs, think tanks, lobbying, policy advisory, energy policy, etc.
  • Solid understanding of governmental institutions and their workings as well as understanding of the current situation related to politics, economics and policy related to energy and climate.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills, at ease with complexity and willing to dig into the relevant details, while keeping in mind the big picture and able to synthesize.
  • An open networker who is creative, self-aware, and solutions-oriented with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Multitasker able to manage multiple assignments in parallel under significant time pressure, in an organized manner.
  • A supportive teammate able to collaborate with client managers and sensitive to client needs.
  • A fluent command of spoken and written English is required, additional languages are a plus.
  • Ideal candidates are interdisciplinary, combining experience from Policy, Economics, and energy-related aspects, either by academic background or experience.
  • A master’s degree preferably in Social and Political Science (including EU studies, Political Science, International Relations, Economics, Policy Studies, Innovation Studies, Energy Management) and any energy related program.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge or experience in one or several of the following areas: energy systems and infrastructure, renewable energy, hydrogen and fuel cell technologies, alternative fuels for mobility, innovation management, and public and private project financing.
  • Bright analytical skills combined with a hands-on approach to responding to clients in designing impactful and sustainable solutions.
  • Ability to bring projects forward in an exciting international environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborative spirit motivated to learn, and a positive and entrepreneurial attitude to connect with colleagues and clients.
  • Other languages (e.g., Dutch, French, Spanish, German) are a plus but not required.
