Country Manager
Juan Pablo Zuñiga is a Chemical Engineer from the University of Concepcion with a Master’s degree in Energy Systems from the University of Melbourne. Earlier on his career, he acquired a strong background in process engineering developing projects for both the pulp & paper industry and the oil refining industry.
Before joining Hinicio, Juan Pablo worked for 3 years at Engie Impact in both the Chile and Belgium offices, where he participated and led several decarbonisation projects for industries and cities worldwide. Juan Pablo has expertise in analysing energy systems from technical, commercial and policy standpoints, combined with advanced understanding of renewable and non-renewable energy systems. During the last years, he has been working on multiple projects along the whole green hydrogen value chain with special focus on Power-to-Chemicals systems (e.g. ammonia, hydrogen peroxide, methanol, and steel), Power-to-Power systems and renewable energy export.
Juan Pablo is a founding member and the current Executive Director of the Chilean Hydrogen Association. He is a Chilean native with working experience in Chile, Germany and Belgium. He speaks fluent Spanish, English, German.
