As a prelude to the Green Hydrogen Summit – Chile 2020, our CEO Patrick Maio had the opportunity to share some thoughts with H2 View on how he sees the future of the hydrogen market in Chile. As the country continues its push towards renewable energy, it aims to turn its #solar boom into a hydrogen economy.
“Chile combines unique and attractive characteristics essential to the development of hydrogen as a sustainable business. You can find there excellent conditions for producing solar and wind energy, with the best worldwide solar irradiation levels in the region of Antofagasta, in the Atacama desert, in the North, and excellent wind conditions in the south of Patagonia. These very cheap and abundant renewable energy resources offer a great advantage to produce green hydrogen at a very competitive price, to serve local and possibly international markets, especially in North America, Asia and eventually Europe” – Patrick Maio.
