10 years Hinicio strategy consulting specialized in sustainable energy and mobility

This year, Hinicio, strategy consultancy specialized in sustainable energy and mobility, celebrates its 10 years anniversary . For this very special occasion, Hinicio’s customers, partners, shareholders and the whole Hinico team came together from all over Europe and Latin America on 6th July in Chateau Ruisbroek, Brussels to discuss the past and future 10 years of the hydrogen and fuel cell sector and spend a delightful summer evening together.

Patrick Maio, founder and CEO of Hinicio, opened the evening with some words about the Hinicio’s history and his vision about the role of hydrogen in our energy future: ‘Why hydrogen? Because it’s clean, because it’s abundant, because it can serve so many purposes from storing and transporting massive amounts of renewable energy up to enabling sustainable mobility globally.’ For showcasing hydrogen and fuel cells, Hinicio organized a hydrogen fuel cell car shuttle service with Toyota Mirai and Hyundai IX35 kindly provided by the Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking.

The CEO roundtable ’10 years back and 10 years forward: Looking into the future of hydrogen’ brought together a very distinguished panel of key decision makers in the hydrogen sector, including Dr Uwe Albrecht (Managing Director of LBST), Bart Biebuyck (Executive Director of the FCH JU), Fabio Ferrari (CEO of SymbioFCell), Caroline Hilleger (Senior Vice President Strategy & Technology Watch at Engie), Patrick Maio (CEO of HINICIO), Pascal Mauberger (CEO of McPhy Energy), Filip Smeets (General Manager On-Site Generation at Hydrogenics), and moderated by Wouter Vanhoudt (Director Europe at HINICIO).  First, the panel analyzed the main evolution of the sector over the last 10 years, during which hydrogen and fuel cell moved away from the lab and closer to the market, building momentum at the policy and industry level. The panel also reflected upon the next 10 years and the importance of aligning industry, policy and regulation, as well as reinforcing the visibility of hydrogen towards the public via educational programs and communication. The outlook was realistic, positive and the panelists finally agreed that hydrogen was set to become a cornerstone of the on-going energy transition.

As a symbol for the next 10 years, Hinicio’s team spread the seeds and planted two trees in the park of Chateau Ruisbroek with their customers, partners and shareholders and 10×10 trees in Reforestaction forests all around the world supported by Hinicio. May the next 10 years be fruitful in driving forward the energy and mobility transition by exciting assignments, innovative projects, discoveries and growth.

The HINICIO team thanks the customers, shareholders and partners for celebrating this important milestone together and sharing a delightful summer evening.
